In September 2023, The Bridge Home, a non-profit organization, broke ground on a new affordable housing project in Ames, Iowa. Our project works collaboratively to consider 18 new rental units designed for individuals and families experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness.
Inspired by the industrial detail of shipping containers, Canvas Apartments merges the functionality of these structures with the idea of simplistic living. The facade celebrates the authenticity of the containers, while interior elements are curated on a base design according to personal needs, wants, and preferences. For us, luxury is defined by the simplicity of living effortlessly. By repurposing shipping containers and allowing our residents to co-create a home that reflects them, we hope to create a sustainable canvas where character meets comfort, a creative take on affordable housing.
